Isaiah: A successful young author
12. July 2018Isaiah lost his hearing due to meningitis when he was 21 months old. Thanks to a cochlear implant and a hearing aid he was able to hear again and live a life like any other boy – most of the time. This spring, at the age of 11, he decided to write a book and to donate all the profits to the Hear the World Foundation.

Lebanon: An inspiring experience
14. June 2018Sanah Kayani: We set off from cloudy London Heathrow to the Paris of the middle east, Beirut in Lebanon. I cannot begin to explain what an amazing journey it was! It took 7 hours of flying to finally get to Beirut, where the sun was beaming and the sea was as blue as the sky. We were soon introduced to the follow-up phase of the Hear the World team.

Jackie Oduor: a mother from Kenya
12. February 2018We were blessed with our first child in 2006. I had a normal pregnancy and birth. It was only at two years, we noticed that she wasn’t developing much speech. I compared her with other children of the same age and was asking around but people reassured me that there was nothing to worry. So I enrolled her to a playgroup. Two weeks later her teacher told me that they think she did not hear.

In spring 2017 he received a cochlear implant from Hear the World. What hearing children learn naturally in their first years of life, Alejandro has to learn in language training. Now a study has shown that the most important language therapy is sensitive parents.
